As I stated previously, POTUS can clear him but his seniors, peers, subordinates, vets, and civilians know what he was found guilty of and charged for. A guilty war criminal should be ousted because that is what we expect.

SGT John S. War crimes are a big deal. Its not unusual for nefarious types to want to take others down with him. He was the one convicted and charged. That is on him. See something, say something. You can call it being a rat if you want but if I saw someone commit a war crime, I'm calling them out on it.

SGT John S. - Posing with a corpse is a dishonorable thing to do and that proof is in the picture. They would right to remove his Trident along with all the others involved in the picture.

We put many of our military people in bad situations with ridiculously narrow rules of engagement. I have said this many times over the last 18 years of Middle East fighting, we are turning our good infantry into police forces. At the same time, declaring terrorism to be a police matter inside America, we gave the local police forces weapons and vehicles that were formerly only seen in combat zones. We were turning our cops into infantry.

I do not agree with the pardons, military members must follow orders. But, I understand why Trump is doing it, many of the orders during that time frame bordered on the ludicrous.

Got an idea- why don't we let our cops be cops, and our infantry be infantry?

But lets not let our troop stand over dead combatants/terrorists. We are appalled buy pictures of our dead personnel being dragged through the streets and posed in pictures so why are we not appalled at this picture?
Are we not supposed to be better than these people or we just the same but wear the US flag on our shoulders?
