We refinanced our home through New Day about 3 years ago. I calculated we would have about $3000.00 left after paying all the required payoffs. I was planning on using the $3000.00 to take my wife on the last vacation of our lifes. I'm 75 . Just before closing the agent told us that there was a 3% fee because it was the second time I financed through the VA. After all the work we did, we followed through with the mortgage. We never had that last vacation so beware. Now the company that New Day sold our mortgage to wants to refinance us again. They said the defiance through the VA is only $300.00 but theh expect us to pay PMI insurance. Just beware, these finance companies aren't looking out for you!

Does that mean I get the 3k back that I was charged for buying a home after I sold my first home and cleared my VA loan?
Why are we charged such a high fee for using it a second time when the original loan was clear before we got a new loan on the new house?

I had a VA loan on my home and then refinanced using the VA again two years later. There were no fees and there is never PMI because you are using a VA loan.

i was overcharged on my last refinance. it was the third time i used it. i was not made aware until it was too late that the funding fee was 5%. the other two times i was only charged 1%. now i found some paper work that says i should have paid 3%. is this what this statement is about, as i have not received any money back. i am trying to understand if i should sue for my over payment. who should i go after, the va or the lender?
