'Everybody's Overworked:' String of Suicides Raises Questions About Sailors' Stress Levels

I am surprised at the seniority of some of those that took their lives. It sounds like the command climate during the yard period could be to blame. Seriously hope the Navy figures this out. FWIW, I have done numerous yard periods as an Engineer, and they are always stressful, but definitely manageable if the leadership plans correctly, It takes a lot of effort on the leadership to plan it ahead of time, and then late hours in the yard making sure the plan is executed. Sad all around.
