Metropolitan Lounge

For those that travel via Union Station in Chicago. The Metropolitain Lounge is available for a $25 day pass (which is waived for Amtrak Sleeping Car passengers and Business Class). It functions similar to a FF lounge in an Airport and offers upgraded seating accomodations, TV's, snacks, wine, soda, etc. Additionally they offer lounge members access to the only functioning showers in Union Station (for travelers that traveled overnight but had no access to a shower.........the showers have steam heated floors which are a unique experience). Also they have a deal with a local but connected to Union Station Health Club if you want to squeeze a workout at a gym vs just wait for a train. If your traveling by Amtrak train, access to the lounge also includes special preboard before the public on Amtrak trains. Definitely worth the $25 if you want to avoid the regular crowded waiting rooms of Chicago Union Station.
