There are loads of manufacturers of AR-15's. Colt is at the very high end of the price point on the AR so their sales have been suffering. That is why they are not going to make them for the foreseeable future. The media is trying to link the shootings with their announcement. It is hogwash but 1/2 the people that read that story from ABC (at least) will believe it.

Cpl Jeff N. That is the point, in the article I shared, made. There are plenty of small quantity AR manufacturers out there. Colt might just not be able to compete with them because what they want to sell them for. Also, IMO the only ones that will believe the ABC article are those that are not in the know or anti 2A.
