The PMS of the Army ROTC program I was in covered it in depth with a whippersnappers warfare when he'd covered mil history...he was a really serious mil historian and Vietnam War hero, I did a paper for him I've mentioned before on ops research and game theory in wargaming, that got me the only award I ever got in the program, the AUSA Army ROTC mil history award for 78, or, at least, I was an awardee...I've still got the WW2 green history volume about the Italian campaign I'd gotten as a prize....

And it was a brilliant strategically optimal use of terrain, on the level of Julius and Augustus Caesar and Napoleon...without that, there's be no South Korea today, virtually guaranteed...I've reflected on how he did it many times, and wondered whether anything similar might've possibly been done in Vietnam, by way of analogy...I've reached no conclusions, if course, merely reflected on the whole topic, that's all....
