SGT (Join to see) - well let's see I feel Squats of any style are paramount in one's training, deadlifts are key to raw power overhead press is key to core strength as well as overall strength. I truly one must find what works for them and be mentally focused to accomplish their specific goals..

SGT (Join to see) - the Sgt don't allow skating, SFC Stephen King ...LOL.
I fall into the 5x5 exercises when it comes to those that I should've focused more on earlier - Squats, Bench, Deads, Military Press, Bentover Rows. Everything else, including 4 of the 5 listed, are just variations of these. The core exercises are a must and if folks aren't doing at least a couple of these already, they are gonna pay for it soon. Standing Military Presses can work your core, but not as much as targeted work on the core - it just hits the stabilizers, you know?
Of course, when we're younger, we all just want to tend to focus on big arms and a popping chest, cuz that's what is glorified.

SSgt (Join to see) - I agree. My favorite exercises for core are actually TRX exercises.
