Yep, as someone who regularly travels to LA for business, I have seen it first hand.

I am thankfully outside of LA proper, but get to see a lot of it. I work in downtown Santa Monica so I have been seeing it progress for years.
I do not plan on staying here, but that will depend on my soon to be wife. I have a few more years until I retire and my vote will be to move away from here.
The only good part left is the wonderful weather.
