From the mountains in Peru comes a song by Simon and Garfunkel entitled El Condor Pasa... The background visuals are absolutely amazing and reflect a culture so different from our own... One of a simpler time, one where nature prevails and the long lost cutures early in the history of Earth's many civilizations.... We take so much for granted here in the United States... and we, as a people have become somewhat spoiled with all that we have at our fingertips... Other cultures have not been so fortunate...
I hope you all will view this Music Video with a new eye toward what we have and how we can make life better for all of mankind... instead of all the hate which has become pervasive in the Western World and beyond...
Lyrics:
I'd rather be a sparrow than a snail
Yes I would, if I could, I surely would
I'd rather be a hammer than a nail
Yes I would, if I only could, I surely would
Away, I'd rather sail away
Like a swan that's here and gone
A man gets tied up to the ground
He gives the world its saddest sound
Its saddest sound
I'd rather be a forest than a street
Yes I would, if I could, I surely would
I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet
Yes I would, if I only could, I surely would
