It might be a stretch, but "false flag" attacks are indeed possible. Having such deceit subjected to the inevitable investigation may be extremely dangerous to "the cause". Revelation of that tactic would destroy all credibility.

MAJ Byron Oyler - True. And during Operation Fast and Furious, the Obama Administration put guns into the hands of drug dealers in Mexico which resulted in the death of a Border Agent. Then attempted to blame it on lack of gun control laws.

MSgt (Join to see) - The blood is on the hands of those Dems for ALL who died on both sides of the border from "F & F" guns. They told FFL dealers to make the sales to obvious smugglers and straw purchasers, that they (the BATF) had everything under control.
Then they conducted the guns safely across the border where they disappeared. They had no jurisdiction in Mexico, and could not follow the guns, and they did not co-ordinate with any Mexican authorities.
The only rational purpose to be served by "F & F" was to have those guns recovered at crime scenes, and traced back to American dealers. Then Hillary and her ilk could moan about "lax gun laws" leading to the arming of Mexican cartels, when it was the Obama administration behind the entire scheme.
