My wife and I try to stay away from as many P&G products as we can. They are so saturated into the market, under so many labels, it can be difficult at times. But - we work at it.

Shaving has only ever been a 1 or 2 times a week and I have an electric that does just fine. If I go a for a full week with no shave, people start to notice around Thursday that "hey, you did not shave today!" I just cannot grow a beard to save my life. It took me 3 months to get a minimum mustache while in the Corps.

I am the opposite. I once had a DI admonish me to get a haircut shortly after leaving the barbershop. Electric razors do little more than irritate my face. Nothing shaves as well as a straight razor but it takes time and practice and some blood loss to master it

I hear you there sir! I do like a straight shave at the Barber's every once in a while.

On the flip side, it would take years to master it myself when I only shave 100 days each year instead of 365 or even 730 times each year.

Heck, in boot camp we had those blue plastic disposable Bic Shavers. I used the backside, the plastic side, to "shave" every morning while the DIs micro-managed our daily routines. They would raise an eyebrow but never say anything since I could pass (a real close) inspection. Saved me a bunch of razor burn.

"Gillette is blaming competitors like Dollar Shave Club and Harry's." Lol, you mean the competitors that gained customers after you ran them off.

Darn the luck, the competition came about at the same time of the Toxic Masculinity ads came out.

They are my favorite of all the safety razors, but none of them can shave as close as a straight razor. For shaving cream, etc., I get my products from The Art of Shaving. If you've never had a shave with a straight razor, go to a barber just to see how different it can be

CPT Jack Durish - I get the straight razor treatment more on my head than my face. I have had It done before and it is nice.
