Grasping at straws, here.
Personally, I am much more offended by people getting rich while in office from lobbyists, books, and "speaking fees" than I am a legitimate business making money.

If you built a business would you be willing to turn it over completely to others without the ability to check on status until your term in office was over? .........that is a blind trust. That is the standard that Congress wants to enforce here for Presidents and my feeling is that is waaaaayyyy too high an expectation and would limit some folks from considering to run for office, especially limit business people. Agree with what you say about some of the extras that Congress allows that really does not require any talent or skill and in some cases is just bribery after the fact, some of that should be off limits as well.

Here is what gets me, if you look at how congress has passed laws allowing them to basically do insider trading that would get you or Martha put in jail. How does someone with less than a million in assets, on a $175,000 salary end up with 6 to 10 million?? Congress is a bunch of hypocrites.

SSG (Join to see) - Insider trading is banned in the House but I have no clue on the Senate. If your caught by SEC doing insider trading in the house then your dragged before the Ethics Committee. I know this because BETO got busted for it.

Not entirely, there are rules that allow them to get by with some trading on information they get, now that doesn't mean they don't get greedy and push the envelope even further.
