There is precisely zero reason to issue this proclamation. There was no public movement to have it. There was no law passed to create it.
One can only conclude that this Governor has some affinity for the deeds of a founding member of the KKK and a treasonous military officer. That alone is reason to find a new person to run the state.
I understand remembering history and commemorating historical figures, but this one is a complete head scratcher.
