Honestly, guys, the more I read about the Civil War (and I've read a good deal about that particular yo-yo in addition to countless others besides him), I truly think every single one of the Confederates, esp the high-ranking ones, were just total, complete, absolute nutjobs, complete and total wingnuts, to my way of thinking...I don't care how brave they were all supposed to have been, how zealous, how much dash and panache they were all supposed to have...to me, they were all nothing but total, absolute historical fruit loops...they all had less than zero chance of ever winning that whole thing, and got a whole lot of their guys, as well as the Union's guys, lost in the process, all totally for nothing, except that it finally put an end to the nightmare of slavery...was it a romantic story? Yeah...is it endlessly historically fascinating? Yeah...does that make those Confederate weirdos any less of having been total fruit loops for having caused all that misery 150+ yrs ago, all totally for nothing, with all of the Jim Crow stuff that followed in their wake for decades thereafter? To me, no way...is that cynical? Yeah, I suppose so...does that make the viewpoint any less valid, in my estimation? To me, at least, a great big, fat, resounding no, so far as I'm concerned, honest, guys...I know I'm gonna be disagreed with here, I get that, however, that's just honestly what I think of all their ostensible bravery, truly....
