I can't help but reflect on it here in Dawsonville and in Dahlonega. The flags and crosses are on all the main approaches to the downtowns with the names of all the vets from each county that have died.
The fireworks are at the University of North Georgia which is the military College of Georgia. Everyone is standing for the National Anthem and all the services are recognized.
The fireworks are pretty good as well.

I reflect on our beginnings. I have something to share; my ancestors were Patriots in the Revolutionary war, I have photos of their headstones in Pennsylvania. One is buried with 5 other patriots and Jacob's headstone is written in German. Jacob Bordner is also listed on a plaque at Valley Forge.

I say "Happy 4th" and don't even think about it. I do remember to my grandchildren stories about a couple of my great etc grandfathers who fought bravely without concession for Independence.
