It’s works great in some places and horrible in others. Really depends on how many specialists actually sign up to be choice providers. Also it depends on the choice providers actually getting results/reports back to the VA providers who put a consult in to begin with and for me this has been where the process usually breaks down. I would take a wait and see approach as there is 1, yes 1 urgent care in my area for Veteran Health Care. That's some joke.

I got a letter from the VA about this change. I've been going to the VA in Asheville sense 1980. Back when everyone had their appointment at the same time of the morning. You went in one big area where they would put everyone's records in a stack. And there were seven Doctors in their little room. And witch ever one came out and picked up your record is the one you saw. And sometimes you would be ther from 8am till around 6pm. Things have came a long way from that. And I live around 60 miles from the VA. So it's around a 120 mile round trip for me.
