Seems like a whole lot of clickbait, man.
I see people saying keto and weight watchers on here. At the end of the day the best diet is one you can sustain. Plenty of people do well on weightwatchers because they control all the variables, all you have to do is abstain from eating outside the diet or binging multiple meals. And yet people do.
Keto can make drastic progress in little time because you're changing your hormones and the way your body breaks down energy to consume more fat. The problem with ketosis is that it's really hard to maintain and it makes you say more sensitive to carbs so it's a really hard rebound if you fall off the wagon.
If you're trying to lose weight in a health conscious way, then do some research and find a nutrition plan that is similar to your current eating habits. Take two weeks to maintain a food journal (MyFitnessPal is an easy one) and just record what you eat normally and your weight fluctuations every 3 days. At the end of this you'll be able to get a general idea of what your BMR is and can plan your weightloss journey from that. Drop your caloric intake 200-300 and at the end of the week see where you end up weight wise. Never drop more than 500 calories below what you averaged your BMR to be. Additionally, little by little pick a habit a week that you want to either adopt or get rid of to be healthier.
This is the marathon method.
If you want to just make height and weight then do what every other forever soft body does and wrap yourself Saran wrap, starve yourself and then continue to eat fast food and hostess cupcakes.

I concur 100%! The only change my wife and I made was once we figured out our daily caloric intake, we multiplied by 7 and tracked the weekly totals instead of the daily. This allowed us to eat up 1 or 2 days each week, add a fast in for a day (if so desired) and kept us from going crazy on a set limit each day. Over 6 months I went from 247 lbs to 212 lbs. This was, of course, with a steady work out plan too.

There are as many diets today as there are restaurant choices. The one that has many benefits for some people is the KETO program. It is a journey to better health for many people and has grown considerably over the years. What has never changed is it takes a length of time to put on the weight and when one decides they need to shed some pounds they want it NOW! I personally lost 300 pounds...impressive of course! But that was over a 20 year period.

I feel your pain, Brother. Since I got out, my weight has been as high as 280, and I need to be around 205/210 to be at 18 percent body fat (weight lifter). I am not there right now, but not back to the 280 either. Low Carb/Keto diets work well for me, but it's hard to stay on one if your spouse doesn't want to eat that way too. On Keto/Low Carb diets, especially first time, it's not uncommon to drop five or six pounds in the first couple of weeks, but that is mainly from losing water weight since as you insulin levels drop, you don't retain water. From there on out, depending on how strict you are on total caloric intake, a pound and half a week is a good pace.
