In Pursuit of Prokhorovka

This article is a great read in two areas on the history the tank fight in the southern area of Kursk.... and unravelling the re-write of history passed down through the ages that most are familiar with. Its the Operation Dick Tracy aspect and discussion of that - and how it lead to the unravelling of the bow tied around the truth of what happened that is as interesting a story as they come by! But the real story is the battle that pitted the 1st SS Panzer Division against the Red Army's 5th Guards Tank Army’s 29th Tank Corps and 18th Tank Corps and the untangling the myths surrounding the battle that are largely stemming from General Rotmistrov’s attempts to justify his actions to Stalin. When those myths are wiped away - very different battle occurred than what you may have learned.
