U.S. forces land at Vera Cruz

I sent this in on another thread...most generally don't know this was actually the first major U.S. amphibious invasion...most typically think it was D-Day, which, while obviously eclipsing it in scale, was, in point of fact, most definitely NOT the first...it was covered in some depth by the PMS.of.my Army ROTC detachment, who actually warranted it for the class he taught on military history, I did a paper for him on wargaming, the one thing I got any award for while in Army ROTC, for some reason, the topic just seemed to appeal to.my turn of mind, which clearly ranted gravitated to.it, I just figured you'd all find this one of genl interest....
