I retired as a Correctional Sergeant with a total of 26 years from CDCR at Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) in Jamestown California on my 50th birthday in 2014! When I received my Honorable Discharge after 6 years of active duty as a Hospital Corpsman I joined the California Department of Corrections as a Medical Technical Assistant (MTA). I lateraled to Correctional Officer and then promoted to Correctional Sergeant. I would recommend a career in CDCR for all veterans! Being able to retire at the age of 50 at almost eighty percent of my pay as a Sergeant amazes me! If it wasn't for my status as a Navy Veteran I don't know what I would be doing now but I do know I wouldn't be receiving a pension for the rest of my life like I have now! It was a amazing career and I highly recommend considering CDCR for any Veteran!

Yeah, I just completed the PT test. I just hope they'll pick me up. I really want this job. My background is completely clean. I just wanted to know if they'll like my qualifications.

Yeah, I just finished the pt test. I just asked because I really want this job. I'm 27 and need to start a career. I want to work in public service over the business world.

I've been in backgrounds for a month now. Process is going extremely slow. I'm from SO CAL. Riverside area. I just got my EMT. I'm actually getting a job with CAL FIRE as a seasonal firefighter until I get through the process.
