The commercial market picks them too early so they are not as ripe as what you can grow and pick yourself, plus they breed the plants now for traits like not bruising, lasting longer on the shelf, but not for taste and such. I grow about an acre and a half of garden and set about 50 tomatoes plants every spring, so if you are in Western Kentucky stop by and you can have all you want.

My home grown taste so much better. I hardly buy any tomatoes at the store.
