Lord Stark was offered clemency if he took the black and joined the Night's Watch.
Look how that turned out.
Given a choice between a posting in Thule or worse, the Pentagon, this good Colonel would be wise to retire. His point has been made, and no matter what "Big Air Force" says, upsetting the apple cart has consequences.
COL Lamb sounds like a good man. He should parlay that into a sweet consulting gig and get paid to speak truth to power.

1SG (Join to see) That's exactly why I think he's at the point in his career that he really can't suffer. While he got good attention from CSAF, there are many that stand between CSAF and the rest of us that can cause good policy to get warped upon implementation.
