“First I think it’s important to understand that we are an atheistic religion,” Greaves (temple cofounder and spokesperson) said. He goes on to post elsewhere that this acknowledgement will help make sure the Satanic Temple has the same access to public spaces as other RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS, affirm our standing in court when battling RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION, and enable us to apply for FAITH-BASED government grants (emphasis mine).

Looks like not all atheists agree with you that atheism isn't a religion and that they are also people of faith. So if the US Government recognizes atheism as a religion and faith-based then shouldn't you and everyone else? Or do atheists, like Christians, not see eye-to-eye on every single issue?

Capt Gregory Prickett So how is that considered a faith based religion deserving of government funds and protection? It would make more sense if they actually worshipped the devil. What makes an atheist religion, a religion?

Capt Gregory Prickett Sounds like y'all have denominations too. And I too don't care if my beliefs don't make sense to you or others either. Live and let live right? But I wonder if we'll see posts from you about people in these religions committing crimes though. Or if you're just one-sided about that.

Capt Gregory Prickett Makes perfect sense. But like I've said several times, it doesn't really matter. We can agree to disagree.
