You got that right, Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth! The last scene in the movie is really kind of hilarious! Shane clip-clops off toward the mountains at twilight (really broad daylight with filters on the camera lenses) and Joey yells into a reverb-ed microphone (mountain echo effect). "Shane! Come back!" Hilarious!
My mother liked the movie, but even she thought this last scene was pretty lame!

SHANE with Alan Ladd as the gunfighter trying to move away from his past
was a excellent western movie. I really liked Jack Palance's gunfighter character.
Jack Palance played the "bad guy" character in a few movies and he looked the part.
