As I stated, Wikipedia is useless as proof of anything, but it is a good jumping off point. Yes, you or I can edit Wikipedia. But we can't edit the sources Wikipedia links to. And when looking for something like a list of occurrences, Wikipedia is actually a GREAT source, because it provides a list of occurrences - WITH EVIDENCE for each one.

It isn't a red herring. IMHO all of the people who are all "OMG someone tried to overturn election results" or "OMG Americans trying to overthrow a government" regarding January 6, but who are ALSO silent, ignorant, or even APPROVING of all of the times we have done it in foreign lands are MASSIVE hypocrites. I am merely calling out said hypocrisy. America engages in regime change on a regular basis. It is (part of) what we do. And if we accept that as part of who we are, then we have zero right to be offended when someone tries it here. None.
