Someone might rationally claim that; if an atmosphere of racial hatred was engendered, then such actual attacks might be the result.
That such a false claim of an attack was required to demonstrate the alleged "atmosphere of racial hatred" indicates the opposite is true, that there was no such atmosphere created, making the faking of such an attack a necessity to falsely prove the false statement against Trump.
