Trump press ban: BBC, CNN and Guardian denied access to briefing
The Guardian, New York Times, CNN and more were barred from ‘gaggle’ hours after Trump once again called much of the media an ‘enemy of American people’
_The "informal gaggle" was in lieu of the Normal Press briefing in the James Brady Press briefing room.

_Sean Spicer decided to hold the "gaggle" instead of the normal press briefing. "I've said this since the beginning. The president spoke today, he was on-camera," Spicer said. "He will make another comment today at the technology summit. And there are days that I'll decide that the president's voice should be the one that speaks and iterates his priorities."

_Because Spicer's office is smaller than the Brady press room, the entire press Corps that attends the regular briefing could not attend. There is a regular Press Pool for smaller venues. Membership in the regular press pool is determined by the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA), and changes daily. Under agreements established by the WHCA the information collected by the press pool must be shared with all WHCA members that are not invited.

_Sean Spicer decided that his office could accommodate a handful more of correspondents than the WHCA press pool. The "banned" news agencies were not banned. They just weren't in that days press pool and were not among the additional agencies Spicer chose to invite.

Did their level of antagonism toward the President figure into the decision to additional invitations? probably. So what? They still get the info share from the briefing. They get exactly what every attending agency got. No more. No less.

Really, we should not even be dicsussing Trump or Obama in this. The prospect of banning certain reporters from a political event due purely to their color is just plain wrong. If you can’t see that you should take a better look at yourself.
