It’s hard to watch this video without feeling some sort of emotion for those that made the ultimate sacrifice during World War Two. When the plane lands on the carrier deck you can see the gunner’s position is all shot to hell while the pilot’s cockpit ahead of it is undamaged. The film continues with scenes of a corpsman taking a fingerprint of the deceased gunner then shows the chaplain saying final prayers, followed by taps. The sailors then push the aircraft and this patriotic airman over the side and watch it sink into the sea. The soundtrack is “Goin’ Home” sung by the BYU Men’s Chorus.
