This is of course, an over simplification of people types. Even people with both tend to lean a little harder on one of the skills versus the other.

Number 1 is the consummate sales person
Number 2 is the accountant
Number 3 works in a government agency somewhere
Number 4 is likely an entrepreneur or a more senior leader somewhere.

Number 1's tend to get promoted a lot because they have great interpersonal skills and they are usually just smart enough to shield their technical competence flaws. Number 2's plod away for 30-40 years in the same role, never really happy but never really depressed. Number 3's live to aggravate the other 3 people types and number 4's tend to be in the top 10% or higher of wage earners.
