John Robson: A real debate about climate (if that’s even possible!)

This is an opinion piece from a Canadian newspaper. Canada has had its Green New Deal (in a dummied- down form for a long time) and the economy, especially in the oil sector, is hurting due to climate change insanity. Canada currently have two laws that may be passed or not. One law prohibits supertankers from picking up oil on the West Coast. The other law proposes local disputes of pipelines or energy projects which could hold up progress or kill it all together. Crazy AOC people have been in Canada for a long time. Some of these crazy and green people are funded from outside sources to keep Canada from exporting their fourth largest oil Reserve in the world. Crazy congresswoman Cortez has been borrowing from the Canadian Playbook. The Ground Zero for this Playbook is Ontario where they have six times the national average cost for electricity because they went all green and British Columbia because they are against any kind of pipeline expansion at all.


Last year Edmonton had 167 days where it was below freezing. Edmonton had its coldest February in about 40 years. In 1977, Leonard Nimoy's In Search Of show (find it on YouTube predicted in 'The Coming Ice Age' episode that around now we would be in the beginning of an Ice Age. Climate Science and naysayers all agree that the earth is warming. The schism is...is it humankind's fault. The Carbon Tax, Cap and Trade, Green Party and Eco-Marxist Ocasio Loca Cortez side says yes it is.
The climate change factions already convince certain governments that this is a good Revenue source. France recently stopped its carbon taxes but it's money was being used to balance the budget and not being used for mitigating CO2. Canada is trying to start a big carbon tax. Most provinces have it. Some provinces use the money to mitigate climate change and reduce CO2. British Columbia is one province in Canada that is not using the money for climate change mitigation but it is being put into the general fund just like France used to do. Prime minister Trudeau has three provinces fighting carbon taxes and it is now in federal court. Canada is going to increase its carbon taxes from $20 a ton to $100 a ton in the next 5 years. Only leftist California has carbon taxes at the moment. That means 49 states have a comparative advantage to California and Canada. I believe the European Union is also on the carbon tax bandwagon. The time is now to not let the three Young Turks of the Democratic Party run the show when they are freshman Congress people who need to show respect to those who do not agree with them. Having honest differences of opinion is healthy unless you are a Democrat or a climate science person trying to get into this field.
