Remember seeing a chapel dedicated to him somewhere in Turkey, Ankara perhaps or somewhere along the Black Sea coast.

They taught Christianity in the language of the people. Russian liturgies are still done in Church Slavonic. They taught the Slavs how to read by giving them an alphabet - The Cyrillic alphabet which is a combination of Greek letters augmented by letters from the older Glagolitic alphabet. This combination was able to add additional letters in order to make Slavic sounds in Old Church Slavonic. I used to go to the Russian Orthodox Church in St Petersburg. A nice little church.
