I try not to be an alarmist (or a conspiracy theorist), but stuff like this always has me wondering...what if "they" want "us" to think the fish, deer, and other readily available sources of protein in the wild are "contaminated" wide-spectrum? I've little doubt this story is factual... but living in a region where not an insubstantial people still fill their freezers this way... makes me think.

I agree and unfortunately since this is not an issue all over the Country yet not everyone is aware of it as they should be. This pod cast has a lot of really good info in it about CWD and what they are and can do about it.

Not good for hunters. They are killing entire herds when they find infected deer.

Joe Rogan - Wildlife Biologist on Deadly Deer Disease!
Wildlife biologist Bryan Richards explains CWD/chronic wasting disease. Taken from Joe Rogan Experience #1154: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3s6p2UP57Q
It not a vaccinatable disease, it is caused by Prions which are indestructible little infectors. Even when you kill an entire heard that has the disease the prions can stay in the soil for a long, long time. I was listening to a Pod Cast with Bryan Richards who is the CWD project leader for the U.S. Geological Survey's National Wildlife Health Center. This is some scary shat. Here is a link to the short version, but the Pod cast is Joe Rogan Experience #1154 - Doug Duren & Bryan Richards.

SGT Cody Skinner - Thanks for sharing this video. I am guessing that nothing will really be done with this disease until it crosses into humans and affects sufficient numbers to justify the research. In a high fence herd, one could inoculate if there was a vaccine, but there is no way to treat the wild herds.

LTC (Join to see) - Not 100% true, We have people like Bryan Richards who is leading the charge into fighting this. It's just an uphill battle on an extremely steep slope. I would really listen to the whole Pod Cast on this one. It scared the hell out of me for a bit, but I'm in Texas where it's not a prevalent yet.

SGT Cody Skinner - We have a high fence ranch North East of San Antonio so we follow this pretty closely. I know there are some folks working on this but there is no real money behind it yet.
