Telephone scam artist picked the wrong target — former FBI and CIA director William Webster

I make software for a living, and I get both spear-phishing emails and the occasional scam phone call.

Had a few whoppers:

1. Scammer tries to tell me my PC has a virus, I was out of state so I had my PC off, unplugged from the modem and outlet, and the 24 pin mobo connector is removed. It's off and staying off. I told him I was out of state and not near my PC. He asks, "when will you be back?" I said, "When Hillary becomes President!" This was 2015.

2. Scammer, virus, same old BS. I said, "Give me a minute, I need to log in to Kali Linux and will remote into..." he hung up.

3. Scammer, same story... They call, I said "Yes, I was just on the phone with a Mr. Weiner, first name Drew, middle initial P. Can you put him back on the phone, please?" I hear him repeat this name over the phone and hit the floor laughing. Mike Hunt also works, so does Amanda Hugginkiss. He replies back, there's no Drew P. Weiner here, I said, "you sick b*****d, I don't swing that way" and hung up.

Wow...talk about embarrassing...must've given tjem serious pause for rethink mode for the future...wow....
