Sad that the country cannot get behind the Oval Office... Shouldn’t matter whom is sitting in the seat once seated!

Yeah, they all but forced everyone to get behind the previous administration or "your a racist" and would be publicly ostracized for failure to comply. Which reminds me, didn't the authoritarian leaders of Europe and Asia's recent past ostracize and/or kill detractors?

It's not sad and it shouldn't be expected. If you or I disagree with the way the country is moving, then we have a right and a duty as Americans to dissent, and to express that dissent. That is the foundation of our Constitution and our country. The office of the President is the single most political office in government. It was designed that way. So it is perfectly understandable for people to disagree and object to the way the person who holds that office is running things. WE DO NOT HAVE A KING! WE DO NOT OWE LOYALTY, FEALTY, OR EVEN RESPECT to that office. Imagine where we would be if the colonists would have had the attitude you are talking about.

MSgt Michael Smith Well, let’s put it in other terms most can understand these days. Say you are the child of a single parent. That parent marries. Do you stand behind your parent whether you agree or disagree with their decision? You love them like your country, right? Now tell me why you won’t support your parent! Since I just paralleled with a perfect example, I’ve made my point...

Rick Scott makes valid points. Unfortunately, Washington's warning about party/faction goes largely ignored inside the beltway. They may talk a great game plan when the amble into their home districts/states, but the beltway bubble is a black hole that sucks all common sense and representative beliefs out of their gray matter.

Trump has made similar statements about this deal being pretty easy and straight forward and it is.
I am not in favor of a pathway for dreamers to citizenship but I am willing to allow a permanent resident status. There has to be some sort of impact for coming here illegally (even when your parents bring you). I think permanent resident status gives them security for the long term they want. That is a give for me, I have held that they should have no permanent status prior.
For this, we should get the BORDER SECURITY package the president wants. This includes all of the elements he is asking for including the 5.7 billion for the wall. Actually we should spend more on the wall than that.
DC has become filled with leaders like Pelosi and Schumer who have zero chance of not being re-elected due to the single district/state they represent. Let's remember, Pelosi represents one single district from California and Schumer only one state, NY (and half of it technically as there are two Senators from NY).
