This is why I hate it when the Left conflates illegal aliens with "immigrants" and "refugees". America has benefited greatly from the latter two, and suffered from the illegals. But they conflate them in one pot and call us racists for seeing the difference.

At one time, César Chávez was the darling of the left for his work in improvement of the condition of Mexican migrant workers, but he opposed the illegal aliens as a threat to all he was working for.
I don't see him mentioned by the Left in the controversy over illegals (SORRY -- "undocumented immigrants"), which is understandable. What is strange is that his objections to illegal aliens is not featured by the Right.
