That's why the Coast Guard can do so much on such a small federal budget. CG sells the seized drugs back to the smugglers, then stops them and does it again. Economic multiplier effect.

That could and should be considered a dangerous payload. That is to say where it lands is were you will see devastation on the ground. I guess playing ping-pong with the cartel and their drugs would be pretty risky with America in the background.

Well with over $6B in drug seizures last year (more than all other agencies combined), I'd say they made a pretty effective wall. The newer equipment is a lot faster with the cutters carrying response boats capable of 40+ knots, and the cutters themselves capable of better that 28 knots. Plus the larger cutters deploy with a HITRON team (chopper with a sniper) for when the bad guys don't feel like stopping.
