You have to be careful when digesting information from limited studies such as these. They tend to create more questions than answers.

The study would have been more useful if they would have looked at all countries and the death rate of children in each country per population. Then break down that number more and identify what they died of. While the US may have more automobile and gun deaths among children, our overall child death numbers are far below other countries.

The difference in deaths between certain countries in the survey can also be easily explained, but they make no attempt to explain it. For example, the US has more child automobile deaths than England. The US has more cars than England because England has fantastic public transportation. It’s population doesn’t need the same percentage of cars as the US. I would imagine that the number of child public transportation deaths in England is higher than in the US.

Great job Thor. This is how different factions use statistics to spread lies. I saw children in Africa that were in the military. I bet they have more combat deaths of children than the US, Canada, UK, Germany, etc... You can find a stat to make any conclusion you want.
