My daughter is considering entering the Army for Combat Medic. She is 5 ft, 114 lbs and an athlete, however, I'm wondering if her height and weight is a roadblock to this. I keep trying to dig up the requirements for this specific area but am only getting the the bubbly Army recruiter saying it's all fine. Your inputs would be greatly appreciated.

SSgt Anita Pollock there is no gender or height weight different standard on this new PT test. I am 5ft 4 as well and weigh 120 and pretty darn fit, but when i first gave myself a diagnostic on this new test, i failed the leg tuck and deadlift event (because I was not regularly training with heavy weights doing deadlifts and almost never did unassisted pullups) I took the Army PRT manual and the new ACT and put together my own training program and trained for 30 days. Next diagnostic I passed with flying colors each event. Thus the program I created and now have available to all military members or future military members who want to be ready for this new standard. I was already in very good shape, but because of two areas I did not focus on in my training, I would have been a failure.

How the FORSCOM H2F/SRT2P impacts soldier fitness in both the APFT and the new ACFT over the next 2 years will be very interesting. I have many peers uniformed and Civilian involved with it and now 3 months in, is just getting set up at 12 posts via 30 batalliions across the US.
