Crazy! Rest In Peace Sir!
I would hope a very complete investigation is made, I can't conceive of anyone with that success level in a career of ending his own life. At this point though there appears not to be enough information to draw an conclusion but then taking ones own life isn't divided by rank or age and has to be of major concern if that is in fact the case. In any even My sympathy to His family, friends and co workers.

My thoughts exactly Senior. I worked Homicide in my civilian career. In Los Angeles, we found roughly 3-5 suicides a year were actually staged homicides. Someone without a lot of homicide experience would easily miss the clues. I am very suspicious of a senior military member taking his life in a foreign country like that. I am also concerned about NCIS investigating since homicides are not their forte (despite what the TV shows tell you). Unless the Admiral had something going on in is private life or he was under some type of investigation, his suicide is unusual.

SMSgt Thor Merich - Same thing I was thinking and I've seen both Homicide and suicide scenes and it tends to pretty apparent to an investigator that that has experience with both. One local Police Officer from Dover (MA) Police Dept went onto LAPD and His first shift in Watts He was at three separate Homicide scenes, that certainly is a place to learn more than You might want to know about that sort of crime. In the Military be it CID, NCIS or OSI most haven't that background but in some very large busy installation have a lot more, it depends on their posting.

No person of rank or class is exempt from suicide. It happens to the best and very elite. Admiral Boorda immediately comes to mind. His integrity was questions and he may have made some mistakes, but he was a 4-Star Admiral. You can't say he didn't lack intelligence.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter I am not arguing against a thorough investigation or denying the possibility of foul play.
But....
You appear to be perpetuating one of the great depression myths. Namely that success defeats depression. It can often WORSEN depression.
I know nothing about the deceased. But the line of reasoning that his success casts suspicion on the possibility of suicide is faulty.
