"At this point, what does it really matter?" The Murphy Brown redeux has been cancelled and good riddance. However, this lesson should not be forgotten. One of the favorite tactics of the Left is to create the illusion that their opponents engage in the despicable acts that they employ. No reporter was ever assaulted at a Trump Rally. However, the Left has sent its goon squads, AKA "Antifa", to attack all who oppose them.
Addendum: I posted this link on Facebook and a friend responded... Mark Jordan Koeff I was at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, sitting third row, end of aisle center, right in front of "Murphy Brown," at the 1992 Emmy's – the year it won accolades for it's bullying of then VP Dan Quayle, who, unbeknown to me, was sitting right behind me. Well, it was a paid doppelganger. His shtick was to jump to his feet in utter humiliation, wail about being sick of being made fun of, throw his Emmy program to the ground with all the strength he could muster, and then stomp a hasty retreat up the aisle, ramming through double doors at the end, all the while sobbing and shouting about how unfairly he's been treated. Predictably, the crowd went wild. The Bridges family (Lloyd too was there with his sons & wives) who were sitting next to me, were stoic, as was I. Seeing "Quayle's" crumpled program on the carpet, I picked it up and saved it. My intention was to mail it to the real Dan Quayle, along with a narrative of their despicable behavior. I failed to locate his address. As to my night at the Emmy's, I went home and gathered a few friends to watch the delayed airing of the incident, but to my surprise, which is shouldn't have been, the ridicule of Quayle portion was edited out. That is, the mockery of our VP was for the Hollywood elite's eyes only. While such antics today would not raised a single eyebrow, back in '92 it would have been a major display of overplaying one's hand. Not to mention revealing the genuine ugly face of the left. In the end, though Bush/Quayle lost their reelection bid a short time later, Quayle won the war on the issue about a baby's welfare suffering when there is no father in the home. Besides a litany of research that followed, all concluding the importance of two parent home, Candice Bergen, herself, announced ten years later that Dan Quayle was indeed right. Too bad she does not appear to be one who learns from her mistakes.
