NJCU golfer's unlikely journey began in the US Marine Corps

Justin Davis' eight years in the United States Marine Corps have shaped him in many ways as a person.

Athletically, it also took him down a path, he never could have envisioned.
The 40-year-old Davis, a member of the New Jersey City University golf team, is perhaps the country's most unlikely college golfer.

A Vancleave, Mississippi native, Davis only swung a club on a handful of occasions before joining the Marines. His introduction to the sport came more than 6,700 miles away from Jersey City when he was stationed in the Okinawa Island of Japan.
