Although smart weapons using overhead and tagged before the shot....it would seem easy. Carriers are not nimble. Remember, we had weapons that correctly hit the right window in a building miles away. Why would it be hard to get a big slow floating carrier?

There's a huge difference between hitting a stationary target and one travelling 30 or 40 kts over the horizon. Yes, a maneuverable drone could do the job but drones are targets themselves. The "carrier-killer" is a ballistic missile fired from a great distance and its maneuverability is limited in the final approach.

CPT Jack Durish - I agree, big difference, but I would think a smart cruise missile connected to Satellite or an observing drown could do the job. But, it has been years since I have seen non news media footage of cruise missile attacks.

Interesting article but I wonder with all the smart technology out there can it be effective!
