This is a response to the 'nukes' remark the other day by Dem Eric Swalwell implying that the Government would use nukes against American citizens, written by a famous author. It is hands-down the best summary I've seen as to why the argument that 'the government is too powerful so 2A doesn't apply anymore' is bunk. It's worth your time to read.

But, but, but according to the Democrats, they don't want to take away our rights......(eyes rolling, sarcasm). Ok if the moron Swalwell think it is time for guns to go by by, then let the hypocrite walk down the streets of Chicago without any police, body guards, or guns with a bag full of money.

An excellent analysis.
I often reply to such mindless assertions that “An AR-15 is no match for the tanks, planes, and drones of the Government”, by reference to the Russian experience in Afghanistan, and the French and American experience in Vietnam.
I will also direct such people with no knowledge of asymmetric warfare to the movie “Michael Collins”, to learn how the “urban guerrrilla” defeated the British Empire, with all its troops, planes, ships, tanks, and artillery. He succeeded in establishing the Irish Free State, after 700 years of fruitless conventional warfare.
