Something sure had to change and its too bad it took a disaster of that scale to move towards accomplishing those safety reforms. More often that just that example though making money is the bottom line for many owners and management and without regulation the risk remains. This was a lesson that not only the coal mines needed but all of industry. To coin the old phrase " an once of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure."
