Insightful for the most part. The article focused on this statement: "I think there's a certain honesty to what's happening now," McChrystal said. "The President didn't go to Arlington Cemetery for Veterans' Day, and maybe that's honest, because if you really don't care, it would be dishonest to pretend that you do." Which i find a tad insulting. As much as ome may not want to do something that maybe expected of them as a leader we still do it if it’s necessary for perception. Pretending to care isn’t acceptable but telling folks you don’t care is also unacceptable. Honesty is important but that’s not at all what we got from the WH when questioned about Arlington and France.
The part in the video not mentioned in article where McChrystal says it’s important for a leader to be human and have empathy. Well we have yet to see Trump as a leader who can show true empathy but instead looks to pretend he has it.
