For those of us with a memory longer than the past 2 years. This has been a recurring and growing issue with the White House Press room and various Presidents have had to deal with it. Typically the White House Press Corps roots for the Democrats and generally they have had a free ride here with softball questions. However, it was a problem with Ronald Reagan (also a transformational President similar to this one). Problem again with George Bush I though not as severe as it was with Ronald Reagan, wasn't so bad under George Bush II. Didn't exist under Obama because the press acted as part of Obamas campaign for President vs asking challenging questions on the Economy, National Defense or any of the many Domestic Programs (such as Obamacare) that were not quite working as expected.
