Technically, he is mulatto. But close enough! Thinking of Elizabeth Warren, if she is less than 50% native she really can't clean it to get a native status card or native benefits. Being 1/8 or 1/64 does not entitle you to claim that Heritage as part of a minority to go to law school. My native wife laughs at Elizabeth Warren. My kids are 50% indigenous. They can claim it.

Understood, LTC (Join to see). I simply don’t think the word mulatto is used commonly in the United States any longer.

LTC Stephen C. I apologize if it sounds racist. Maybe because it's still used in Spanish. By the way, the offense of term sambo actually is used in Spanish as zambo which is a cross between a black and an Indian. So what do I use? I know he is a mixed-race former president.

No apologies necessary, LTC (Join to see). It’s a perfectly legitimate word with no racist connotations of which I’m aware. It may end up as a word that may ultimately be misconstrued, but now it’s simply a word that’s fallen into disuse.
As for Obama, I really don’t know what you might call him. Inept? Divisive? Your pick!

LTC Stephen C. yes, at 56 years old I'm no longer that young. Now I can live at my mother's 55 and over senior community. Maybe old school stuff I was taught in the 1980s has changed LOL.
