As a dog owner myself, it's hard to read this. I get that it's for the greater good, etc. -- but sad to think about...

Why dogs? Certainly not the only animal with a spinal cord, and I believe not nearly close to ours. I don't see a reason. Time to have a hissy fit as they say in the south.
