If U.S. Missiles Are Deployed, Putin Says, Europe at Risk of ‘Counterstrike’

Seems to Me some effort to monitor each other compliance might be a better move that to get the cold war started again. Although I agree We cannot 100% trust Russia and never could going toe to toe again and turning the clock back somehow doesn't seem to be a good idea. No that We should allow ourselves to be walked over but the exchange of threats doesn't accomplish anything either.
