Oops! Civilian Satellite Data Inadvertently Pinpoints Military Radars

In the late 60's our destroyer escort would sail from Pearl Harbor to the northern Pacific to monitor the Soviets. The missions were top secret and the was only informed once we were underway. But the civilian laundry truck workers always knew in advance because they would show up out of schedule to demand we settle our bills because we would be going on a mission. When I asked how they knew what we didn't, they laughed and held up a copy of the local Honolulu newspaper that announced when the Soviet missile range impact area would be closed to mariners.
